TEN in the Community
Some may think we are all work and no play, however, our non-work related community work challenges for charity are becoming increasingly exciting. In 2014, we completed the National 3 Peaks Challenge raising over £12,000 for Action Medical Research. With the support of friends, family and our customers The Energy Network was one of the top fundraising teams, successfully completing the challenge in just under 27 hours. Action Medical Research is a leading children’s challenge, dedicated to funding research to help reduce the high rates of premature birth, and improve treatment for sick babies. It is best known for developing the first polio vaccines.
In 2015, our Managing Director, Stuart, trekked for ten day Charity Trek in the jungles of Uganda for Action Medical Research This amazing adventure took him to Bwindi, ‘the Impenetrable Forest’ in Uganda, where he will have the opportunity to track mountain gorillas and see the endangered Golden Monkey in its natural habitat.
Following the visit, The Energy Network donated a 3,000 litre water tank, water purification equipment, pigs, chickens and continues to sponsor a child through the Singing Gorilla charity.
